Job Description Job Description Manages the full lifecycle of a
commercial loan portfolio ranging from $20 million to $40 million,
with a strategic focus on maintaining asset quality, mitigating
risk, and driving sustainable growth. Originates, structures, and
services complex credit relationships by understanding the unique
financial needs of each member and delivering tailored lending
solutions. Proactively develops new business opportunities while
deepening existing member relationships, ensuring alignment with
EastRise Credit Union’s mission to support local businesses and
strengthen community prosperity. Major Duties and Responsibilities
Weight Description Essential 50% Leads the end-to-end process of
commercial loan origination, including application intake,
financial analysis, and credit assessment. Evaluates borrower
financials—such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow
projections—to determine repayment capacity and structure
appropriate credit solutions. Exercises sound judgment in making
underwriting decisions within delegated authority and ensures
timely, accurate completion of all loan documentation and closings
in alignment with EastRise Credit Union’s standards for quality and
compliance. 25% Leads asset recovery and workout strategies for
distressed or high-risk commercial loans, including past-due
accounts. Develops and executes action plans to mitigate losses
through restructuring terms, negotiating settlements, and
coordinating collateral liquidation when necessary. Partners with
internal teams and external counsel to ensure compliance with
regulatory requirements while maintaining member relationships and
safeguarding the Credit Union’s financial position. Provides
responsive support during collection efforts to preserve
relationships while protecting financial interests. 15% Maintains a
high-quality commercial loan portfolio through ongoing monitoring
and risk assessment. Ensures all member files are current and
complete, including financial statements, projections, and loan
documentation. Communicates appropriate risk ratings and maintains
regular contact with members to ensure their evolving financial
needs are met. 10% Provides responsive support to members regarding
loan-related inquiries and concerns. Ensures full compliance with
all applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies, including
the Bank Secrecy Act, Patriot Act, and OFAC requirements. Supports
the collection and resolution of past-due loans, working
collaboratively with internal teams and members to preserve
relationships while protecting the Credit Union’s financial
interests. Must comply with all company policies and procedures,
applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the
Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets
Control. Knowledge and Skills Experience Five years to eight years
of similar or related experience, including preparatory experience.
Education/Certifications/Licenses A college degree. Interpersonal
Skills The ability to motivate or influence internal or external
senior level professionals is a critical part of the job, requiring
a significant level of influence and trust. Obtaining cooperation
and agreement on important outcomes via frequently complex, senior
level dialogues, as well as a professional level of written
communication skills are essential to the position. Other Skills
COMPETENCIES: . Must be at least 18 years of age. Favorable
Background, Credit, Criminal, Bondability, and Reference Checks
required. (Motor Vehicle check dependent on position.) Travel to
other branches or locations may be required depending on position.
ADA Requirements Physical Requirements Perform primarily sedentary
work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to
10 lbs. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in
emergency situation. Must be able to operate routine office
equipment including telephone, copier, facsimile, and calculator.
Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average
of 4-6 hours per day. Must be able to work extended hours whenever
required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular,
reliable and timely attendance. Working Conditions Must be able to
routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled private office
with minimal noise Mental and/or Emotional Requirements Must be
able to perform job functions independently and work effectively
either on own or as part of a team. Must be able to plan and direct
the work activities of self and others. Must be able to read and
carry out various complicated written and oral instructions. Must
be able to speak clearly and deliver information in a logical and
understandable sequence. Must be capable of dealing calmly and
professionally with numerous different personalities from diverse
cultures at various levels within and outside of the organization
and demonstrate highest levels of customer service and discretion
when dealing with the public. Must be able to perform
responsibilities with composure under the stress of deadlines /
requirements for extreme accuracy and quality and/or fast pace.
Must be able to effectively handle multiple, simultaneous, and
changing priorities. Must be capable of exercising highest level of
discretion on both internal and external confidential matters.
