Job Description Job Description Assistant Director of Day Services Supervised by: Director of Day Services Days/Hours of Position: Monday–Friday, 40 hours per week; flexibility may be required based on the needs of the program. Position Overview: The Assistant Director of Day Services plays a pivotal role in supporting the planning, coordination, and delivery of high-quality day programs that enhance the lives of individuals served. This position is responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of service plans that promote independence, community integration, and personal growth. The Assistant Director collaborates closely with staff, families, and external partners to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and organizational policies. By providing leadership and guidance to the day services team, this role helps maintain a safe, supportive, and engaging environment for all participants. Ultimately, the Assistant Director contributes to the continuous improvement of program outcomes and the overall success of the day services department. Minimum Requirements: Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) or similar experience. Supervisory or leadership experience in a human services or nonprofit environment. Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record. Ability to complete required training and certifications. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suiteand 360, medical records and othercloud basedapplications. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in human services, psychology, social work, education, or a related field. Knowledge of DDS regulations, person-centered planning, and day services operations. Neat and accurate record keeping. Responsibilities: Assist in overseeing daily operations of day services programs to ensure effective and efficient service delivery. Support the development, implementation, and evaluation of individualized service plans tailored to participant needs and goals. Supervise, train, and mentor day services staff to foster professional growth and maintain high standards of care. Collaborate with families, caregivers, and community partners to coordinate resources and enhance participant experiences. Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, licensing requirements, and organizational policies. Participate in budget planning and resource allocation to optimize program effectiveness. Collect and analyze program data to monitor outcomes and identify areas for improvement. Assist in organizing community activities and events that promote socialization and skill development. Respond to participant and family concerns promptly and effectively to maintain satisfaction and trust. Support the Director of Day Services in strategic planning and special projects as needed. Skills: The Assistant Director of Day Services utilizes strong organizational and leadership skills daily to coordinate program activities and guide staff effectively. Communication skills are essential for collaborating with participants, families, and community partners to ensure services meet individual needs. Problem-solving and critical thinking abilities are applied to address challenges and improve program quality continuously. Knowledge of regulatory requirements ensures compliance and helps maintain high standards of care. Additionally, data analysis skills support monitoring program outcomes and informing strategic decisions to enhance service delivery. Physical Requirements: Persons in this job must possess the physical and emotional health needed for effective and efficient completion of duties. Individuals in this job are likely to be required to perform lifting and transferring activities and may be required to perform a protective hold on program participants and may be exposed to risk of injury from abusive/assaultive participants.
