Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, the Vice President,
Marketing will have responsibility for the oversight,
development and implementation of strategic marketing plans for
Alkermes’ Vivitrol®. This position will be based in our Waltham
Will develop comprehensive marketing strategies and plans which
meet/exceed sales and profit targets across all customer segments
including providers, patients and payers. Will partner with R&D
to ensure robust development plans and lifecycle management
addressing scientific, economic, policy and people-affected
challenges and opportunities. S/he will work in a
highly-collaborative cross-functional manner directly with
colleagues from around the organization (i.e. medical affairs,
clinical development, regulatory affairs, legal, compliance, and
other commercial counterparts in sales, national accounts and
commercial operations and analytics). The ideal candidate will have
both breadth and depth of marketing experience, having led
marketing organizations to achieve both top and bottom-line growth
and will also have experience in other commercial functional areas
(i.e. sales, sales management, market access, sales operations,
etc.). The individual must have a strong understanding of the
current legal and regulatory landscape. In this highly visible, key
leadership role, the successful candidate will own the P&L for
the brand and will have full autonomy to build the capabilities of
the marketing organization, set high performance standards and
reformulate the team and brand strategies as necessary to achieve
results. This position is a critical commercial leadership role,
with strong opportunity for future advancement.
Bachelor degree with emphasis in Business, Marketing, Sciences
or related field is required
15+ years’ progressive commercial leadership experience in
biotech / pharmaceutical industry is required.
MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
8+ years’ demonstrated track record of accomplishment in
Marketing leadership; depth and breadth of U.S. brand leadership
experience with a track record of delivering both top line growth
and bottom line results; deep marketing functional expert and sound
knowledge of marketing fundamentals to include product development
and planning, pricing and distribution, market analysis, etc.;
experience in specialty market preferred.
Broad commercial breadth of work experience within functions
outside of Marketing (Sales, Sales Leadership, Managed Markets,
Market Research, etc.) preferred. Demonstrated strong leadership
