As ViiV Healthcare continues its innovative approach to ensure
that no person living with HIV is left behind, the ViiV Executive
Team has decided to change its approach to innovation to focus on
building a new, more robust portfolio that helps to prepare the
ViiV business for the future of HIV care. In order to build that
portfolio, ViiV has decided to create a role in the U.S. that
focuses on exploring opportunities for the business and curate
ViiV’s vision, working directly with senior leaders.
Reporting to the Chief Digital Officer, this role serves as the
primary interface between strategy, technology and innovation, and
oversees the strategic commercial innovation investment portfolio
and it’s execution. As a result, this role will find and work with
different technical areas and strategic external collaborators on
an innovation agenda that directly impacts the future competitive
advantage of the ViiV product portfolio. Due to this focus, t he
role will also provide business leaders with the insight,
analytics, and visibility to develop and improve our strategic
commercial investment portfolio decision making, to fund the right
mix of innovative programs across all growth ambitions. This

Write innovation portfolio project business development
proposals, including scope, budget, timing and technical
feasibility and possible outcomes/benefit.
Facilitate workshops and discussions to generate, evaluate and
prioritize ideas and further work out and scope innovation
projects, in order to e stablish clear project priorities for
maximum business development throughput
Mature innovation ideas and liaise with both technical and
business experts, internally and externally, to ensure the right
focus and feasibility of innovation projects
Optimize resource loading for priority programs to maximum value
creation, includes finding, aligning and contracting with external
partners as well.
Establish investment portfolio criteria and manage stakeholders
and project portfolio to ensure the right innovation balance in
relation to that criteria (i.e. in terms of payback time, risk
Ensure alignment between strategy and funded projects in the

across opportunity areas, internally and externally.
Work with the CDO, ensuring the appropriate balance of projects
by innovation type, strategic area, geography, and risk profile

Why you? We are looking for professionals with these required

Master’s level degree in Business or Health related Field (i.e.
Business Development, Finance, Entrepreneurship, General Mgt or
7 years of Business Development or equivalent experience

Ability to influence, challenge thinking and gain credibility

Excellent facilitation skills to define complex technical

priorities and developing internal and external innovation
Good communication skills and project management skills to work
with highly specialized technical experts.
Business development background and experience with technical
innovation within the healthcare industry; education healthcare
professional, scientist or similar is a strong advantage.
Master at utilizing organizational channels, experience and
influencing skills to facilitate successful project implementation
and effective issue resolution
Creative approach to problem solving and ability to challenge
