As a Project Manager, your attention to process and detail, and passion for effective communication are just a part of your greater commitment to quality. You'll support the Delivery Services manager and be responsible for driving all projects and service engagements with our customers to completion. Our customers will see you as their champion and trusted advisor, relying on you to help them identify their needs, propose solutions and assist in business development activities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Sciences (Biology, Chemistry) or related life science discipline.
  • Certification/degree in Project Management
  • 5 years of relevant experience managing projects involving complex enterprise application deployments from inception through completion, preferably to life science customers
  • 5+ years engineering experience in Informatics, Computer Science, Chemistry, Industrial or any other related discipline
  • Demonstratable leadership, diplomatic and motivational skills including the ability to lead up, across, and down multiple business and technology organizations.
  • Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment demonstrating teamwork, innovation, and excellence.

Special Skills & Knowledge

  • Sound understanding of project management methodologies, including waterfall-based and agile-based projects.
  • Understanding of the relationship between scope, time, cost, and quality for a project.
  • Understanding of the software development and release life cycle
  • Ability to build and lead multi-cultural, global teams.
  • Technical proficiency with general business applications such as MS Project or other similar project planning and monitoring tools.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of complex initiatives that span one or multiple lines of business.
  • Provide on-site leadership for the project team by building and motivating team members to meet project goals, adhering to their responsibilities and project milestones.
  • Full project life cycle ownership: successful project delivery will include full implementation from initiation to deployment for one major or several minor initiatives simultaneously.
  • Manage all aspects of multiple related projects to ensure the overall program is aligned to and directly supports the achievement of strategic objectives.
  • Work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment demonstrating teamwork, innovation, and excellence.
  • Participate in establishing practices, templates, policies, tools, and partnerships to expand and mature these capabilities for the organization.
  • Manage the day-to-day project activities and resources, and chairs the project management team meetings.
  • Provide status reporting regarding project milestones, deliverables, dependencies, risks, and issues, communicating across leadership.
  • Understand interdependencies between technology, operations, and business needs.
  • Develop and manage all aspects of the project and program engagement from planning, external vendor relationships, communications, resources, budget, change, risks, and issues.
  • Monitor, track, and control outcomes to resolve issues, conflicts, dependencies, and critical path deliverables.
  • Deliver appropriate and effective executive level communication
  • Ensure that projects and programs are proceeding according to scope, schedule, budget, and quality standards.
  • Manage project and program issues and risks to mitigate impact to baseline
  • Extensive understanding of project and program management principles, methods, and techniques.
  • Providing leadership for project team by building and motivating team members to meet project goals, adhering to their responsibilities and project milestones.
  • Other duties as assigned.
