We are looking for a confident, goal-driven leader who can drive continuous process change across our investor-facing capabilities.

You will be responsible for driving cross-enterprise transformation of the capabilities that empower our advisors to serve their clients. You will help define our current state and develop a road map with key stakeholders to deliver short-term gains while remaining laser focused on executing multiple programs aimed at delivering on Commonwealth's core strategic vision. To do this, you must be able to understand the autonomy needed by business units to make decisions and advocate to align these decisions to firm transformation goals. You must have a firm grasp on the operational and financial impacts of the capabilities of the firm and work with leadership stakeholders to drive change at a strategic level, while also being able to understand the deep details of each program to drive results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Owning the evaluation and continuous development of business capabilities at the firm to ensure that executive leadership aligns with areas for investment with the highest return
  • Understanding the "why" behind goals of department leadership and providing active counsel on how that "why" can fit in with a broader transformation strategy
  • Partnering with functional leaders to execute on a road map for transforming the key operational support functions of the firm
  • Building business cases, developing stakeholder alignment, and earning executive support for the highest-priority opportunities
  • Developing multiphase project plans for transformation initiatives, with incremental deliverables
  • Serving as project sponsor for identified initiatives with responsibility for the activities, resources, and milestones to achieve desired outcomes
  • Implementing metrics for operational effectiveness, productivity, and quality
  • Establishing and reporting on applicable KPIs at the functional and enterprise level
  • Designing and implementing targeted change strategies, including identification of impact on people, process, technology, and policy
  • Providing executive-level reporting that aligns senior management to goals and provide them with risk mitigation strategies
  • Building effective partnerships with cross-functional leaders and project team members

  • Consultative skills to identify, interpret, and capture strategies, priorities, and objectives
  • Experience leading and delivering large, complex initiatives
  • Ability to build relationships with business partners and peers
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Knowledge of investment management or proven ability to learn new functions quickly
  • Experience and comfort operating in a matrixed, cross-functional work environment
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to interact effectively with all levels of management
  • Ability to prioritize, manage time effectively, escalate issues appropriately, and keep information confidential

Additional Skills and Knowledge

  • Certified project/program management credentials a plus
  • Demonstrated expertise in process management
  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification a plus
